I was wondering if this was spam, but then looked at your profile and prior posts - then I saw that you had posted the link to that wonderful set of photographs of kids with eagles and realized this would be worth watching :)

There were some gorgeous photos in that video - thanks for posting.

Perhaps a word or two from you about the subject would be helpful (I'm perhaps just out of it, but I had never heard of the Pink Lady Food Photographer awards and thought perhaps this was some jokey thing...)?

:)

Sorry I just posted the links without commenting thinking that (stupidly) others might know what this was.

The Pink Lady Photography awards are an annual event (sponsored by Pink Lady - the apple grower) and many other companies, like StockFood.com, Champagne Taittinger, One Vision Imaging etc. There are numerous categories for photographers to enter, it's not just about photographs of apples :)

The overall winner gets around $7500 (£5000.00) and loads of media coverage - basically if you win you're made for at least twelve months with interest from media and publishing (food) companies. If you are a food photographer or food related photographer (travel etc) it's like the Oscars and is very competitive.

I should have added an explanation before simply posting the links sorry :)

I very nearly entered this time but chickened out - but will definitely submit two or three images for 2015, I already started working on planning my images.

I saw that on the Beeb website this morning and loved the photos.
Thanks for sharing here.  :)
