Im not blaming them, rather the buyers who are locked into buying from the same old sites.

Now take Alamy, for example, they have been around for years, long, long before micro, etc, RF,RM and their novelty-use. Old, good established name, one would have thought buyers would consult them for just about everything, yet they dont seem to be able to shake off this UK scenery and landscape experts,  weird?

Canstock, is another, great agency, well run, easy uploading and terrific, fast reviewing, yet slow in sales, buyers seem to treat them as a middle of the road site, which its not, they house some terrific material.

GL, is another, now here are some guys who are actually graphically knowledgable, art-direction, etc, which is a hell of a lot more then most of the others, you would think buyers would line up in a que, wouldnt you. Yet, not?

Its a great shame that most buyers, creatives or not, are not prepared to venture outside their usual territory, I mean whats the harm? just a few taps on the keyboard, yet they seem to be set in concrete.

I think it takes a lot to persuade buyers to move.  That's why the internet is becoming like the B&M world, a few big companies making all the money.

I thought a lot of the old StockXpert buyers would move to Stockfresh but that's not happened.  They seem to stick with what they're used to, unless prices go up too much or the site goes down for a long period.

Can we persuade buyers to move?  It would be nice if we could.

Well, not really but I dont think its a matter of persuation, I just find it hard to understand why buyers, new buyers are so easily led, biggest got to be the best,  right.

Technology was supposed to make lives easier. Work shorter hours to get the same amount of work done, that kind of thing. Instead it just made it so clients and employers expected faster results and more work done.

Graphics professionals (whom I believe are responsible for the majority of sales) don't comparison shop because of tight deadlines. The stress can be overwhelming. If you find what you need at the first site you go to, you're likely to try there first the next time you need something. As long as you keep finding the images you need you will return as a "loyal" customer because there's no time to shop around.

It's why I burned out and I'm turning toward photography to try to earn a living. I hate clients.

It becomes a reflex.  Do you ever type in "microstockgroup.com" in your browser out of habit?  I don't even have to type the whole URL.  I can type "m" and it comes up first on the list. I don't always intend to even come in but I find myself in here somehow. Hotel MSG! You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave! ;D

The way browsers work make us stick to visiting the same sites.  We open a new browser page and a thumb of this forum will be displayed along with others we last visited.  We're also bombarded with adverts of all the sites we last visited, no matter where we go.  It's embedded in our brain and we're programmed to keep coming back to them.

It has to be the same with buyers.  If they need an image they type "sh" in their browser without even thinking.  Even if they make a conscious decision to go to GL, before they know it, they're looking through SS's gallery out of habit.

Yeah but there are no big campaigns or budgets involved here, its not as if buyers are after a masterpiece with worldrights, etc. No, I think its pure habbit and laziness or theyre dead scared trying out something mew.

Strange that isnt it, considering all agencies pretty much house the same shots.
