A thought - do you think it is a good idea to point out the location of these massive files of downloads? I hope that we don't have designers on the forum that immediately go and download them, but the forum is publicly searchable and all we are doing is potentially pushing more traffic their way.

Maybe an email to Shutterstock support is the best way to deal with this?

Don't those sites also install viruses on your computer when you download from them?  I wouldn't risk it even if they had a program to make my computer cough quarters out of its USB ports.  Gold nuggets....well, maybe.   ;D

Of course they do. Spyware is guaranteed, and in some cases you can get trojans. My computer tech has told me many times that he uses to have to format computers for many custumers, no matter if the had or hadn't anti-virus. Viruses nomally come from porn or from piracy sites. It is his top-seller for repairs.

I easily found the file just by the name. I think you should remove that screenshot as well and just send an e mail to SS...

Don't think it could be the end because there's already so many pirates.  Piracy is over saturated.  Most legitimate buyers know that the tiny price they pay for a microstock image license will save them from some big problems if they used illegal downloads and got caught.  I think that the vast majority of people that are willing to use illegal images aren't going to pay for them anyway.

Putting the info here isn't going to hurt anyone.  People don't come here looking for warez sites.

I think it will be a never ending battle where those interested in using illegal images will use them no matter what.  If one source is stopped another will open.  There is really no stopping people from using illegal images (at least not with today's tech).  We live off the people who are willing to / and obligated to do business legally.  I think a better 'fight' would be to educate the people who use illegal images unknowingly.  By just grabbing a 'google image' for example.
