Title: This guy is reselling stock images on Amazon
Post by: dbvirago on November 16, 2018, 14:23
Has at least one of mine. I am pursuing it with Amazon at this time.

Quick search and I found at least one of mine in his collection. I'm curious what Amazon has to say about it.

Maybe they've got of these deals whereby they pay the appropriate licence only if they well, and it's all done on trust?
Or maybe not.
Any idea which agency they're being lifted from?

I have friend that is pretty high on the food chain there (within the marketing division) working in Seattle HQ. Let me know if you want me to have him look it over...

He may actually be licensed to do that... depends what kind of license for the images he purchased - because technically this would be a 'derivative' work (as opposed to 'outright' selling the images/prints)... so - he "may" actually be "allowed" to do that...

In which case, seems very smart. Not really the best deal for the photographer/someone who only gets say $0.25 for their image - BUT - if he is licensed to do so, then he is licensed to do so (because that may be what you are agreeing to)... I'd check to see if the license does cover 'derivative' works...
