Title: Try to understand video production cycle
Post by: Freedom on June 18, 2015, 10:12
Say, if your footage are for the coming Christmas season, when is the best time to upload them to the agencies?

If your footages are for summer pursuits, when will the buyers most likely to search for them?

Thanks for enlightening!

3-4 months in advance of the season perhaps.

Christmas is more seasonal than summer though. Christmas only happens once a year while it is always summer somewhere in the world.

That's a great point, thank you!

Although Christmas images do sell year-round, albeit at much lower rates. There's another "holiday" that also sells year-round, but I'm not telling which one. ;) It was a surprise to me. But as far as timing seasonal uploads, you're probably right.

Technically, no... Christmas certainly comes once a year, but summer only comes twice.  ;)
