Title: Using stock images in my online portfolio
Post by: Caleb on August 02, 2018, 05:07
Hi,

I have been a photo retoucher for the last 12 years working for a number of Getty Images photographers as well as various other photographers and projects.

I'm wanting to set up a website to show my portfolio online.

My question is...

Would I be ok to use some of stock images that I have retouched over the years to show in my portfolio online?

Of course I would ask the photographers before using any but I just wondered if anyone here would know about this and if there would be a copyright issue with Getty?

Thanks in advance

The photographer is the copyright holder, so if you have their permission it should be fine.  No conflict with Getty unless you are selling the images and they are exclusive.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was hoping.

The images would be purely to show in my website portfolio as images that I have worked on and I would seek permission from the photographer and credit them too.

If anyone else can confirm this too it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

If the images are RM with Getty, you shouldn’t post them.
