Title: weird microstock considerations
Post by: michey on March 20, 2010, 09:37
1) I really don't understand why vector images have a so low price at Fotolia , 4 credit  lower that same xxl image sold at 10 credits.
2) I don't understand why at bigstockpohoto someone can buy an image for 0.20 dollars and put it in 800*640 in a free to download template on the web.

 ???

Vectors are 8 credits on FT equal to the XL

on BS that type of usage is a minimum purchase of $40 (100K downloads) and unlimited downloads is priced at $120. Most people are going to only need the $40 for a web template .. on DT they would spend $50 .. $128 on IS

I don't think so, vectorial images on Ft start from 4 credits for simple and 8 for a very detailed,  anyway lesser than a xxl  with a price of  10 credits.
I sold an image ion BS for 20 cents  and i found that on a free web template the full image at 800 x 640, no other sites allow this.

having just started with vectors, I was wondering about FT's price too (mine are at 4 credits). They could double the price and still be cheap and I'm very surprised they havent gone and said hey we can make more money here. It's these sort of times I wish I still had access to FT's forum :)

I have lots of vectors at fotolia and most at 4 credits maybe a handful at 6 but never at 8 even the ones istock has deemed as very detailed fotolia don't, I would say 4 credits is by far the most common and 6 and 8 once in a blue moon...
