Bruce Livingstone's departure from IS signals the end of an era, and could indicate that micro stock industry is entering an age of maturity and mainstream.
What do we know about Jonathan Klein? Is he also behind Flickr and StockXpert? In what capacity?
He could be a black horse. Flickr deal was unconventional and visionary. It departs from IS's technical perfectionist approach and encourages the spirit of artistic creativity and experimental exploration.
Let's hope him well.

I would be very happy if they lightened up on the technical and offered more creative work. I don't think that will happen till they are willing to pay for professional editors. Flicker images that were picked for Getty were edited by the professional Getty editing team. I don't personally know Jonathan although we have met so I can't really speak for the man. I imagine he will be speaking of his plans in the near future but maybe not about Istock. They have done well left alone. I would add, if it isn't broken do not fix it.

There is not only iStock... there is Stockxpert too. Getty won't probably change its winning team on iStock, but everybody should be wondering what its plans are with JupiterImages.
