I should have put the sarcastic font on.

I assume the list is the 20 most searched keywords from shutterstock.

Should have. Did not go through the list in that much detail. At least will the"beginner" now know to get a fire arm license for the vectors. Should be hunting some more myself. Quite profitable.

How do you shoot a vector

With a Smith & Wesson

I suppose you could.

Yes, "vector" comes from physics language, and refers to the forces influencing an object in 3 dimentional space. If you shoot a flying bullet or a falling rock, you actually shoot a vektor.

To add to todays science lesson.
A vector in physics is something that has both magnitude and direction/phase associated with it. i.e you specify the magnitude and direction of the force. eg gravity 9.8m/s down.

Vectors are also used to describe relationship between different electrical phase voltage and currents.

Back on topic, if you can build a 500 photo at the top 4 I'd expect $200/month would be achievable for an above average beginner. Bearing in mind that it might take 1-2 years to get that many images especially part time etc. It hard work though no easy gravy train.

Might be better off getting a job washing dishes

If that doesn't do it for you, here's the YouTube version.

What's our vector, Victor?

I'm studying for a new (higher income?) career after Microstock, "do you want fries with that" or should I go for "paper or plastic" I can't decide.

I know most of the people who shoot microstock want to be able to live on this income

Are you kidding? Most people don't make a living at it. I have about 4500 images on two sites. Monthly income is about $250 - $300. I don't shoot released models on white so my contributions are more documentary and journalistic. Good luck!

it really depend on what you do...
I'm Ex. and with a port of 280 pics I make 400$/month.
you can make the same with one file or 4500...

try to concentrate on subject with high demand, with maybe a new look on it. (really not easy!)
