Adelaide mentioned on another thread that she was curious as to what subjects sold well for us at each agency. Here’s my findings…

IS – Transport (Steam Trains)

SS – Transport (Steam Trains)

StockXpert – Transport (Steam Trains)

DT – Nature (Generic Landscape)

FT – Sport & Leisure (Cycling)

123RF – Industry (Construction)

It’s interesting to note that none of the Transport images have been sold on DT, FT or 123RF but the other subjects – Nature, Sport & Leisure and Industry sell well across all the sites.

What are your findings?

Do I see any trends? Let me see.

IS – isolations, finance, textures, travel-related images (airports, hotel rooms)

StockXpert – finance, fireworks, food

DT – food, travel-related images (airports, hotel rooms)

FT – illustrations (they're not is IS), textures

It's not a very technical analysis, though. I should be separating subjects better and seeing % of sales in each site.

Interresting.

But when I look to my sales, I can hardly see a trend... In fact, when one of my photo sells well, it sells well on every site (and when it doesn't, it doesn't on any site

).

IS - Assorted
SS - Assorted
DT - Sports (hockey)
123RF - all my SS, IS rejects

Just last week I added up my sales for some "cute puppy pix". Maybe 5 pix in series, not exactly a popular series in itself - but what I was very surprised to discover is that I sold more cute puppy photos from the series on BIGSTOCK than any other site. Maybe it's the site to sent that pet photo that you love so much but wouldn't think of submitting.
