Well, you clearly consider yourself a winner, Josephine, so why don't you start off by giving us the link to your port? Then we can see how it's done.  ;)

Yes!  This is awesome and obviously an honest reaction to the general vibe of this forum.  I spend time on this forum to learn new and old tricks of the industry, but it does become a chore sometimes to weed through all the negativity.  I can tell there are a few successful people who do the same and contribute valuable information from time to time.  Which is exactly what I come here for.

I would say the overall mentality of a successful person does not match with the type that would waste time on a public forum complaining.

I enjoy doing it a lot.
I am almost making a living out of it (I live in England, if I decide to go back to the old country, Italy, I could live very well with it) and I have only been doing it for less than two years.
I am busy producing images 4 days a week, but there are also those two days a week when I am post processing files, keywording and uploading. This is when I go on forums

i can see your fraustration, but you know some photographers who made it well, well they wanna keep it for themshelves all the secrets to their success.its just the way it goes
best advice is to look very popular images.see what sells best in each agency and try to copy the idea, well not totally couse is gonna look bad,but focus on what sells best in these agencies.
one thing for instance that sells in all the agencies are pictures with people, which i dont have unfo,i only used one model and that was my sister, but its diff to provide photos with people at this time and get a model realish.idid some shootings with models but the photos had to be exclusive unfo.
so here is one eg of so  many.
or you can try editorial and specially events .or try to be unique in each shot and try to bring somethin new to the table.

Nice to see that someone can start in microstock and be (almost) making a living in a couple of years. Congratulations, you're a winner!

Learning the technical side is easy, all that info is available free if you do the research.  Learning what sells is quite easy, just look at the sites and all the advertising images around you.  The tricky bit is working out what still makes money now.  Most of the "winners" did that years ago and can live off old images.  Finding the gaps in the huge collections that still appeal to buyers is much harder now and needs a real talent and commitment.  I don't think anyone can learn that, you have to work it out for yourself.

Josephine isn't actually interested in learning anything. She came here to call everyone else losers...she's done so over and over since her first post here:

Employees who condemn or insult their bosses in public or on the net get dismissed or even taken to court since they damage to the interests of their company. What will happen to contributors who do the same to their stock agencies here in this forum? What will be the consequence referring to their sales?
I suppose they just lose.

Almost every post is a variation on the same theme.

Well just like with products, people come to forums only when there are problems.

As every comment made by the OP seems to be a paraphrasing of the same thing here's a straight quote from the last time I posted on one of these threads. I could add another couple of quotes from the OP to the list since then but I can't be bothered:

This isn't really a thread about being happy, it's about having a go at people complaining.

It is put in a nicer way than the OPs previous posts:

"Many contributors talk about their wonderful photos or illustrations and cry because they dont sell. I am sure they are wonderful, but maybe only for the museum or National Geographic. If they are purposely made for the net and they do not sell they are worthless. If so, its better to say bye bye to SS or so"

"What . is this discussion all about? If somebody does not like peanuts any longer, he or she should just stop eating them. Thats all. Why do spend all this time to explain the hundred reasons for???
What is Shutterstock all about? God Father for microstockers?"

"Employees who condemn or insult their bosses in public or on the net get dismissed or even taken to court since they damage to the interests of their company. What will happen to contributors who do the same to their stock agencies here in this forum? What will be the consequence referring to their sales?
I suppose they just lose."

"If you dont increase your income year by year and you still continue to upload you must be a fool and better look for another job and stop crying."

"...produce better images or leave the business and not to waste valuable time with complaints, petitions or weird accusations."

But same thing. It's basically trolling people who are unhappy about the s**t agencies (particular IStock) are pulling. I believe it's referred to as metacomplaining or something.

They have been here for years and some are still here. But nobody is going to do the work for you. The answers are at your fingertips...you just have to pick up your cell phone and start researching. I imagine the winners are tired of "inspiring" competitors. (Where "inspiring" sometimes means the winner's port gets copied).

If I had the secret of turning straw into gold I wouldn't be going round people how to do it as gold would pretty soon be worth the same as straw.....thats exactly whats happening in Mstock.

They're all out sipping gold-infused cocktails, on exotic beaches, in their swan-skin swimwear... as their assistants take a well earned break from retouching images to feed them grapes, and fan them with palm leaves. No time for mingling with the peasants on the forums!
