Hello,

I am currently looking for a way to buy or rent props and clothings that are typically used in movies, like garderobe sorted by era and the like.

When I am doing a google search, only websites that are popping up try to sell me way overpriced movie props that have been used in REAL hollywood movies (pair of glasses worn by John Malchovic for 599 $ and the like).

Do you have any suggestions?

Try searching for "costume shop" or "costume rental". I found lots of listings, but of course it will vary by area. The US is a pretty big place.

What exactly are you looking for. If it's historical stuff, what period? I mean, it's easy to find clothing of the fifties, while renaissance clothing is way more difficult.

A long shot, but almost every tourist destination has an "old time photo" studio. I wonder if any of the owners would be willing to rent out their costumes? For example this is the first one I found on a websearch http://www.oldtimephotos.com/costumes.html#.
