Title: Which sites take low res files?

 I know I went on about upresing files...not ideal, but I am hoping to add some new life to a slew of old 3 megapixel cybershot pics from years ago. I currently shoot with a Canon 30d,so no problem with those,but wondering....which micro's I might be able to get a few bucks for the old low res catalog?

I believe Microstockphoto, Fotolia, Bigstock do. I have 2mp on iS, not sure they still accept low res though.

DT takes 3.2mp files but I've seen some slip by at 3mp.

If they were shot at "fine setting" and isn't too noisy virtually all the sites will accept a 3mp picture (unless they have a very similar shot at a better resolution) with the exception of 123rf and SS if you signed up after March'06.

There is a list of the minimum sizes for the different sites in my guide below (yep it needs an update but I don't have the source files with me)

I've uprezed old Mavica shots to 6 and they flew on BS, LO and others.  DT, no way, the shots wouldn't even upload, rejected immediately.    I've also cropped ( bad word, I know, can I use that here? )  18 and 20 meg shots down to 9's and they were accepted. Who knows?

cropped?  is that a bad word somewhere in the world?  to me it just means exactly that, 'cropping' a photo, or trimming it down.

But were they cropped (cutting of part of th picture from the around teh edges) or downsized (reduce teh resolution)?

Neither is a bad word as long as you have a good reason for doing so.

Sorry CJ,  I can see my comment didn't answer the question....  they were just sliced and diced, I didn't   de-rez  anything.  Just trimming up to put the subject in better position.

No issues with that.  I guess that is one of the advantages of having a 18-20 meg photo - I assume this is a scan or do you have some pro equipment.
