OK - here's a kind of interesting situation. I have interior photos of a manufactured home, taken for the owner of the park. She is the owner of the home...but, the home itself is a design by a major company.
So, the question is, do I need a PR signed by the home's owner or company? I'm guessing the owner, but thought I'd just toss it out to the group.

My logic tells me both, the owner probably doesn't own the rights to home design (unless actually transferred by designer, which we know 99% didn't happen), yet you need a signed permission from the owner for that particular home. If I'd want it to be 100% transparent and I know it will sell like hotdogs, I'd get both.
But my logic also tells me that designer/team of designers/manufacturer, unless high profile and really proud of their unique designs, will never see or care or know that the photos are on sale without their permission, so I'd just get the owner signed and don't bother much more.

are these cookie cutter homes? If so, most likely the owner signs the property release. If they are custom designed than the builder since it has their style that can be ID.

You had to ask permission of the home owner to go in and take the photos, so you would need a property release signed by the owner. But I can see circumstances where you mght need one from the manufacturer too. For instance, if they use a certain wallpaper design unique to their homes, and they recognized it in a photo, it might be an issue. It’s so difficult today, everything seems to be a “design” with a copyright.
