Title: Wich site accept non vector illustrations
Post by: ddangerfield on August 14, 2007, 05:27
I have a huge catalog of HQ colour drawing in jpg format. It seems that most of the site only accept vector illustration. Does anybody here have any advice ? I am a newbie in the microstock biz
Thanks

Hi,

Josh from Crestock.com here

We have no policy against non-vector illustrations (though it is a preference that they are vectors). Perhaps upload a few and we can give you some feedback first, so you don't waste too much time uploading a huge catalogue.

Regards

I thought I'd seen some color drawings on iStock as jpgs, but don't quote me on that one.

Yes, all the big sites accept illustrations. There is confusion because some sites, such as IS, use the word 'illustration' to mean 'vector', but they accept non-vector illustrations as 'photos'.

On SS make sure that you check "Illustration/Clip Art" and choose as one of the categories "Illustration/Clip Art".

I just found some hand colored drawings on iStock. Here's an example that has flames (go figure):

I submitted two illustrations to IS and they said I should submit vectors instead. That was about 4 months ago.  I have already seen illustrations as photos there, so I thought maybe they had stopped accepting them.
