Title: www.wallartcanvasprints.com - Istock Partner?
Post by: Sadstock on October 05, 2011, 23:06

They have lots of Istock images that you can put onto canvas.  Did I miss when this was announced?

A bunch of mine are in there, too.

They have lots of IS images.  I'm guessing that they are indexing the site without paying for using the images, and then buying a license to do individual prints when someone buys them.  I'll ask ce about it.

Yes, that's how I remember the conversation, too.

I believe there are several sites doing this with other agencies besides istock, also.

Thanks, Sean.  Much appreciated.

FWIW Reading the source code the thumbnails and mouse-over images are pulled directly from iStock and not hosted on their server.

Seems like something changed.  I've not been able to see images on the individual image pages for the last couple of hours like I could before.  http://www.wallartcanvasprints.com/catalog/category/view/order/price/dir/asc/limit/all/id/3/?imageId=1390819&imageTitle=Cheerful%20Home%20Seller (http://www.wallartcanvasprints.com/catalog/category/view/order/price/dir/asc/limit/all/id/3/?imageId=1390819&imageTitle=Cheerful%20Home%20Seller)

Those pages come up without an image now.  I can still see the pages with lots of little thumbs.

Response from support:
"We do have a Partnership Agreement in place with this website. They are working within the terms of this Agreement.

At the time when an actual product is sold for any iStockphoto content on this website, an Extended License is purchased and the royalties are then applied to the respective contributor account."

That can't hurt, eh?

Thanks for tracking it down.  I've added it to the list of partner programs.
