Yup!  So?  hows the past year been, in the stock-world, that is? and any big plans for next year? such as opening up your own Micro or buying out Getty?

best.

I had planned to buy a bigger house with lots more studio space.  Kind of nervous to get into a larger mortgage now, though, with sales dropping over the past year and the economy still in the toilet...

Our current house was bought 13 years ago, so the mortgage rate is very small by today's standards.  We can afford it on just my hubby's income.

I hope it will be quite a few years (if ever) before we have to rely solely on hubby's income again, but it's a comfort to know we could if we had to...

So instead - plan to do more location shoots and do some improvements to our current house instead :)

Our plans are to fully take over the autoglass company my boyfriend's been running since this past July on January 3rd.  He just had our home loan modified so it's a helluva lot less now so we can catch up on our other stuff that we let lag behind.  I don't make enough in micro yet to pay more than my cell bill and internet.

For me I'm planning on doing more photography, getting my teeth fixed and hopefully saving up for a portrait studio kit :)

So lagereek, you never stated what yours were :)

I'm going to work for ibogdan.   ;D

Last December was my BME at Dreamstime.  I'm starting to think that was an anomaly.
Got accepted at Shutterstock.

Looking to reach a thousand images in the portfolio ... don't want to take this TOO seriously.   8)

I'm fairly new at this so I'm still finding my way.  Plans for next year are to find my style, learn more about lighting and greatly increase my uploads.  Not sure what is realistic considering I'm still working a full-time "regular" job but I'd like to see somewhere between 500 - 1000 images by this time next year.

+ travelling throughout Europe, funded by microstock (breaking even is enough since I would have travelled anyway, but I have hopes to earn something too)

We sold our house in Stockholm few years back and bought quite a large farm in the country, horses, etc, and my wife runs a kennel, breeds of Borzoi sighthounds and Dachshounds, Im actually racing the Sighthounds, one of my hobbies. Im spending part of next year getting more into the country-life. Its tough because Im really a city person, lived in London, NY and Stockholm for more then 30 years.
Im definetly NOT gonna sit and worry about Micro stock!!!

I don't know what a Sighthound is, but I just love Dachshounds!  Country life will certainly not be quiet for you!  Those dogs are adorable, but they bark ALL THE TIME!  :D

The same plan I have every day.  The next shot will be better than the last shot.

We moved out to the country 5 years ago.  It took me a bit to get used to it as it was super quiet.  No annoying neighbors bugging you for stupid stuff.  No one getting in your business.  First night we were here it was so quiet in the house that I heard coyotes or wolves (I forget which one) howling and barking and I'm like what was that?  The only thing that sucks about it is that town is like 10 miles from here the next town over is like 13 miles and takes some time to get to depending on the weather and idiots on the road.  I wouldn't trade it back to live in a city again.  I enjoy my peace and quiet.

Also forgot about some other stuff I'm gonna do this year.  Get a real vegetable garden going as I killed the one we tried to start this past spring.   And possibly do something in the front yard maybe make a gazeebo or something not sure yet.

Sight Hound ... greyhounds or whippets?
You mentioned racing.

Love to watch the dogs run ... and the ponies ... and the motorcycles.
Even entered Oscar Meyer the Wiener Dog in a Dachshund race in his younger days.
I like racing.   ;D

Oscar lost.   >:(

No plans on buying Getty. I did open up a micro last month for my own work though, so I see a lot of promotion and SEO in my future. 2010 was a weird year in micro after a great 2009. I definitely need a new game plan for 2011. What that is, I'm not quite sure yet.

More uploading to Alamy with more moving away from the Micros. More of the new plans center on the Wife though. Going to try to start up some craft business then hopefully put her in to Beauty School for esthetics so she can become a Licensed Makeup Artist. Free for me...lol. Then hopefully sometime this new year.. move away from this dying small town.

I have just two goals for the coming year:

 1. Since i am approaching 85yrs- to keep breathing.
 2. To keep flying and make money taking aerial photos.

I was thinking along the same lines, minus the aerial photo portion.  ;D Keep working at the races and keep breathing.

Way off in the crazy areas of the mind, I'm currently looking at a small farm, and starting to collect social security, which would pay the mortgage payments.

Sausage-dogs!!  great beings, love them. Sight-hounds are Borzoi breeds, giant russian dogs, bred to hunt for woolf in Russia, thousand years old breed, fast like hell, can reach a speed of 65 KM/per hour.

All I know is to bet on number 1 / the red dog, inside barrier draw is a very big advantage
