unfortunately, many spend $$$ on more traditional higher end cameras and then complain when they can't recover their costs with MS in a short time.  there's really no need to spend more than $1000 on ms stock equipment. (of course, there are other reasons one might want to do so)

Just sold my only ever full frame, Canon 1Ds I wasn't using it. Didn't meet what I needed and the crop cameras are just fine. Of course now that I recovered that $300 (cost me that used, sold for about the same) I used that to buy a used lens. 35mm APS-C macro with a built in LED ring light. Discontinued and people are selling them for over the original MSRP.

I may use the 35mm for something Micro but it's for ME! When it comes to photography, as much as I like what I do and shoot what I like, sometimes I make shots for Microstock, but mostly it's all my equipment and what I do is for myself. Microstock pays for most of it, so I can shoot what I like. Microstock pays for my camera gear.

Let me also share and celebrate I made 30 cents yesterday on SS. That won't pay for the lens tissue I use this month?  :-\ $250 used 35mm Macro lens? will probably never pay for itself in stock sales. But the next time I'm doing a close-up of something, and the 100mm is too close for the light stand, it's going to be all smiles. Plus I got a nice 35mm f/2.8 prime lens and I didn't have one?

Only 2,497 SS sales to go?  ;D

I made $4.32 (US) / day in 2021, I'm Canadian, so it's 5.62$ (CAD) / day! I consider myself rich and talented!
