Nice!  I'm only at $1K for the month so far on all my agencies, and you hit that in one day!

It is rare to have $1k sale in 1 day, but it's possible if you have many clips.  $1k so far from all agencies isn't bad either.  That's $5k/month pace.

Yes, I'm happy not seeing those $25/HD $27/4K clips from some top high quality producers who somehow decided to sell their clips for pennies.  Most of them are now priced at $149 as they should be.  There was nothing good for Pond5 and us contributors to allow those el cheapo prices for several years.  That was the pure race to the bottom by Pond5.  Horrible move.  I'm glad they corrected their failure that hurt us all in the industry.  September and October are the best months of the year.  So, I hope we'll have decent months before slowing down in Nov and Dec.

Congrats on your sales! Well done.

Still in drought here - no sale since early Jan.

As for the low price producers - despite P5's recent change to a tiered system - there's still a lot of quality footage being offered in the "Standard footage" tier for $39 for both HD/4K!  IMO - those are directly competing with similar footage in the "Premium footage" $149 HD/4K tier.

How does that work??   What determines in which tier footage is placed?

Most of the $25/HD $27/4K clips I used to see from quality producers are now $149/HD or 4K.  Yes, I see some $39/HD or 4K clips with the new 2 tier system, but I'm happy most of those $25/HD $27/4K clips are not $149.  That's good for all of us including those contributors who used to price their clips dirt cheap.

Only if Shutterstock doesn't change anything.

How long until you get exciting news and a new royalty plan?

This my main problem. If they would put out in writing that the 60% will stay for at least 5 years...and that they will heavily promote the exclusive collection...we will see.

Bad glad you are doing well. I hope ss realizes that you are providing valuable insights that make pond5 more attractive to uploaders.

If pond5 starts really promoting exclusive content and with 60% plus personal pricing they can draw all the great content of the industry.

Never understood why they didn't do more with it.

On istock the exclusive content is favored in the searches, as it should be. They also promote their exclusive artists.

Yes - doing more to promote P5 Exclusive content exposure is certainly needed.  Adjusting the Search algorithm to increase Ex's content search results would be a big plus.

This leads to larger question(s).

P5 is owned by SS, a publicly-traded bottom-line driven enterprise.
SS ownership obviously influences management of both companies stock footage businesses.  .

Despite what SS has publicly stated why would a for-profit enterprise buy a competitor only to let it continue as a competitor in-house - makes no sense.  There is potential for siphoning/steering customers and even contributors by various means from one platform to the more profitable platform.

Is P5 going to languish and suffer slow strangulation over time to reduce competition for SS?  Under the status quo and not doing more to improve things such as making Exclusive more attractive to current and potential contributors there's little to deter a decline.

Hmm. Nice.

For me - not sure what happened... Last year - was consistently doing well - so uploaded a set of about 1,000 new videos. Sales tanked by about 90% almost overnight to my utter shock, and for probably 6-7 months really didn't do that well. I asked the staff - and just got a stock reply basically saying 'hmm. oh well'. I was very sad.

Slowly it seems to be growing again. I hope I see the same kinds of results you have soon, because that is very nice.

Congratulations.

That's insane, by rights you should have at least seen a small increase, but to tank 90% overnight doesn't make sense.

When this is the outcome of such hard work it must be really demotivating.

Are you non-exclusive? If so, did you see an uptick in performance from other agencies?

I am non-exclusive.

Yes. It was kind of a shocker, and actually quite upsetting (because I literally had spent a month almost non-stop preparing those other videos, not to mention the actual shooting of them/etc). Uploaded about 1,000... expecting to see a nice boost in revenue, and it just drrrrrrrrrrrroppppppped like a stone.

I don't believe I saw any uptick in any other agencies (while I didn't 'specifically' measure that - I think I would have noticed).

But yes, found it extremely peculiar/odd.

Just now when Pond5 started the "new" pricing (i.e., august 15th) - within the first couple days I did see a couple hundred dollars and though 'wow, okay maybe it is picking up...!'... Sadly though, it's been crickets aside from the occasional sale since then... So... not sure what is going on - I 'hope' it picks up...

But lol - yeah, I was not too happy with that. That happened last year - and I was thinking had I just 'left' things - perhaps I would have continued with exactly the same revenue. (It had been consistent for about 1-2 years, slowly growing maybe 5-10%/year)... While obviously one could not necessarily be sure it was "because" of the uploading (because there are other factors that could potentially affect things, i.e., competitors, buyer patterns, "ai" theft, etc, etc) - the timing was just very peculiar/'coincidental' - so I am assuming that was the case/somehow that affected things... I asked P5 if somehow my search results had been affected, and instead got a canned response (didn't seem the guy even read the e-mail) just saying 'here is how you keyword videos' (duh, already knew that). I haven't uploaded there since then - because wasn't sure if it would further affect things... (been considering it recently, but not sure - because it indeed is a lot of work)...

I had 9 sales on Pond5 for yesterday's report totaling nearly $1,000 royalty.  That's what I love about Pond5.  Although sales have been inconsistent on Pond5 this year, they still deliver occasionally.  I'm all exclusive on Pond5 and get 60% royalty on my videos.  My RPD was over $100/clip for yesterday's report.  On Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and other subscription sites, you only get less than $10/clip for a sale now.  That's sad.  Yes, buyers pay $149/HD if they can't find the same clip on Adobe Stock, Shutterstock or other subscription or unlimited download sites.  They save money using sub and unlimited sites, and spend the rest of their budget on Pond5 for the clips they couldn't find on other sites.  Until a few years ago, all stock video buyers used to pay per clip for decent price.  So, it's nothing new for them to pay decent price for clips especially for big budget project, production and companies.

Congrats! happy for you! I havent made any sales in pond5 since a year ago. I do this out of love really Im not succesful although I treat adobe stock as work and upload regularly.

0 sale day yesterday.  Not fun having 30k clips and 0 sale on a weekday on Pond5.  I started seeing 0 sale days on weekdays on Pond5 last year or so increasingly.  It used to be very rare.  However, thanks to a few big sales days this month, this September seems very decent so far.  September and October are the best months every year.  So, I hope this good trend will continue before winter holiday slow down in late November.

So far September sales have been good and already surpassed last year's September on Pond5.  It's on pace for 30-40% sales increase this September hopefully.  $149/HD high price is working for me, I think.  I love seeing most high quality clips from other contributors priced at $149 now instead of $25 some prominent high quality contributors used to price at.  Pond5 allowing and promoting $25 clips was a horrible idea.  Last year's September was unusually slow on Pond5.  So, not it's back to where it should be.

Congrats to you, this month is my best month i ever had on P5, and the month is not even over yet.
The reason is that P5 set all my prices to 149$ before i set my prices at 79$ cause i thought i want sell at higher prices anymore.
I wish i would have done that my self before, i would have made much more over all.
good luck to all of you :)
