As the title says - seems 30p is more popular, but you get the random person raving about how it is easier to upscale 24.

All I care about are sales and longevity.

If there were a right answer, you would see either 24P or 30P, but not the other. 30P is the common choice, but I upload a lot 60P now because it looks smoother and can easily be made SloMo. One more decision for you.

I don't mind 60p but really it's about the two incompatible framerates.

What I want to know is what sells better, what is more standard, what do stock buyers mostly expect.

You have to consider that most clips have no audio. Also consider that many clips can be slowed down a little or sped up a little with no real degradation of "feel". Those clips can be Interpreted to a new frame rate with no loss in quality, just a small shift in the timeline. The rest? That may depend on what the target audience is. I did say that 30P is the more common choice. At least that's what I see.

SimonK, one of the top stock video shooters in the industry suggests 24p full HD - so that's what I've picked.  I just take his word for it :)

You can hear his opinion at the 7:00 mark of the mexpo video

30p is used more often for television (in the US) while 24p is used for movies and other cinematic purposes. The choice really comes down to who will be using your word and for what purpose. Make it easy for your typical buyer and you'll sell more.

For the rest of us, outside the US (and Japan, Canada and some more), it is even worse: the native FR is 25p...
And this is something really annoying: with the introduction of the HD standard, they could have eliminated ALL the stupid differences between PAL and NTSC and make everything A LOT more easier for everybody...

Thanks Lio! I forgot to mention that 30p is NTSC and 25p is PAL. It's based upon the frequency of the electricity in the different countries, I believe.
