I got an e-mail from a company called Nimia today. Has anybody heard of them?
They say:
With NIMIA, selling your video masterpieces is easy!
"Freedom - YOU dont sign a contract
Direct sales - YOU control the price $$
One place - YOU can store your entire video library, transfer files and license online
Save time - YOU can do mass uploading, downloading and editing

NIMIA is a community of filmmakers our footage was not for stock the quality and culture make us different from video stock agencies. "

They also included this link from 2013, so they have been around for a few years.

The website looks great. They have a lot of high quality footage. 35% for non exclusive RF is a bit low though.

It's not only about which agency can we support but about which agency can support us.
Pond5 has been very flaky recently, but that aside, has anyone has any real experience with nimia? They promote yet another community-ish concept (which i despise in general) and the popular and trending categories and clips that i see there are following the "latest aesthetic trends" to put it politely, plus it seems to mostly come out of the same 3-4 producers which is not a good sign in my opinion.
Still multi agency rf commission is better than most agencies including pond5 unless you price hd there from 79 and up which most people dont.

Which I'll never understand.

Sadly, there a basis as to why this happens (and it seems to be the norm there nowadays)...

I registered to find out more and not particularly happy. They have a tiered system with various benefits for each. The free "Freelancer" one has most of what one would need, but I think any pay-to-play scheme is BS at 35% commission.

My favorite is the Embedding option which only works with the paid schemes. So YOU take THEIR links and put it on YOUR site so customers can see it and buy it so THEY can get 65% of YOUR earnings after you went to the trouble of finding customers. And they charge you for this service. Thoughts?

So if you don't pay up you cannot embed video to help them earn 65%. Makes sense.
