Maybe we just just try, the website and conditions look good to me. Sales in euros are good as well:)
They do not have ftp though :(

Just wondering for the people that have uploaded to clipcanvas how they are doing?  I've recently been thinking of joining and am just wondering.

Thanks

I like ClipCanvas so far, easy to contribute to, nice video previews. I got my first sale last month:)

I get one or two sales there a month - certainly not many. Unfortunately, you cannot re-price your footage once you tag it. The price remains fixed. Like most of us, I over-priced my first submissions. Later submissions, which I have priced competitively, showed sales. This limits your options for putting your clips in play in the way you can on, say, POND5. Be sure and COMPETITIVELY price your clips there. ClipCanvas plans to have a re-pricer at some point. Despite the small number of sales I do continue to upload there. I do this because the tagging process is extremely easy, perhaps the easiest of all the viable stock sites. Once uploaded, I can tag perhaps 50 clips or more an hour! So the ratio of investment to effort makes ClipCanvas not unreasonable even for the slight returns. If you are not doing anything with your bandwidth - why not!

I've had a few sales with a very small portfolio.  I'm going to upload a lot more over the winter.  The site looks great and I think they have a chance of being one of the top footage sites in the future.

I just finished uploading over 300 files to ClipCanvas (nice easy process) and within two days my portfolio received over 20.000 views. I am wondering if this number is real, sounds like an awful lot to me, especially compared to numbers of views at Pond5 or iStockvideo.

Hey Sjo. He he, yes we noticed some of the counts are really high. Let me investigate a little and get back to you as soon as I know what the issue is. brb

Just when I was starting to think I was really popular (over a 100.000 portfolio views in a week).   :D

I noticed the problem only affects a few of my files. Thanks for looking into this!

I just uploaded my first clips. I am very impressed with your uploading interface. Ill just have to remember to add proper file names, that are suitable as descriptions in the future.

It is nice to see an agency pricing in euros and I love that the money can be transferred directly to my account.

I look forward to your success!

Hey Sjo! Ok, this is a little embarrassing, but it seems certain counts have also included spiders and robots visiting a selection of your clips... The good news is this was fixed yesterday, but we will keep monitoring it in the next weeks to make sure it is right, so if you notice anything else, then please let us know.

(btw#1 - Stats have been available for a long time now, but some of you were recently requesting sales history split by each month so you did not have to add this up manually, and we are adding the option to see sales on a from-date/to-date basis, with the last 30 days as default. We are also including number of clips sold and your profit for each period + each individual clip sale, so all options should be covered now. This should be available on Monday evening GMT+1 or Tuesday afternoon.)

(btw#2 - We're getting hammered atm and review times are way up for the past weeks...we know and we are working on it. People at agencies sleep sometimes too you know, hehe)

Sales tip [A13] of the day: first two KEYwords :-)

I had my first batch inspected today - thank you very much!

You may sleep now ;)

ETA: just wanted to say again - what a lovely site you have. I think it is great you tell people upfront that their search placement will depend on the success of their portfolio, that you have weighted keywords to avoid spam, you DON`T show downloads to everyone so my ideas have some protection and your upload interface is smooth and easy.

If you put this much brainpower into your marketing I am sure your site will be a great success.

ETA2: for editorial (and sometimes for creative) a description field would be nice. Some files need more background information.

One more question: I uploaded a file that I have model releases for. But I couldnt find any way to add the release. I was just asked to confirm that I have a release.

From my photo stock experience I am surprised that you trust us so much  ;)

Wouldnt it be better to check the releases and have them on the site?

How are clipcanvas sales doing btw? I reluctantly removed my portfolio from there last year because i for a grand total of 2 sales in an entire year. So i moved the files over to clipdealer and have had more success.
