Title: Collections at Motion Elements
Post by: Yay Images Billionaire on September 02, 2014, 03:44
What is the function of the "collections" at Motion Elements? When I saw it I assumed it was the same as collections, lightboxes, galleries, etc. at other sites; to be used to put a series in a unit for people to find easily (or for one to share).

But when I started creating one, I saw they have a price field. so it appeared that it actually takes the series of videos and makes them one saleable unit. Is this correct? I don't see any info about this on their FAQs.

Hi imagesbykenny,

The Collections feature gives Artists the flexibility of putting together similar or complementary content into a single package. This can either be a footage series from a studio shoot, a collection specific to a location or theme, or simply just a special bundle you'd want to setup to encourage more purchases.

The pricing of the collection, much like any other of your content is left up to the Artists to set. While we encourage Artists to price it at a discount, it is by all means not a requirement and you could simply add up the individual costs of the items included.

The benefit of creating collections besides offering a better deal is that Elements included in it somehow enjoy increased exposure. By that I mean that the MotionElements site has specific spaces dedicated for Collections:

1. When an Element is part of a Collection, this is mentioned when viewing individual Elements, as the full collection is the first recommendation in the "You may also like" section to encourage buyers to see more of your content.

2. On the Artist Page as well as your side panel shown on each and every Element you have, there is a dedicated Collections link (which also shows how many you have) for buyers to view your collections.

3. Collections have a dedicated section at the bottom of a regular Search so buyers can consider purchasing the full set.

To summarize, the feature is both a tool for convenience and promotional purposes, furthermore putting a discount is encouraged but not mandatory.

You can find out more on How to Use Collections on our support page below:

I hope this makes the feature clear. Great to have you with us!

Thanks for the explanation, John. That would work well for my series.
