New here so first if all, hi!
I have what is probably a somewhat embarrassing question but needless to say after having spent an age trying to find an answer I'm going to ask direct.
At present I have a Powershot G15 and have shot some footage in hd. The file size is typically 50mb for 10 seconds, .mov file. If I do nothing in Filmora and export as a .mov file, the size reduce to about 15mb. This is best quality, 30fps. If then say I look at hd files on P5, 10 second clips come in at a substantially higher file size. I'm 99% certain I'm doing something wrong as I'm assuming this isn't typical. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as its now driving me round the bend.
Thanks.

I don't own a Powershot, but my guess is that it's probably the H.264 codec, which compresses the footage and reduces file size. The PhotoJPEG codec is considered standard as the compression is superior to H.264 (but it results in higher file sizes, obviously).

Something is definitely wrong. We did make a step-by-step exporting files suitable for for stock agencies, but it's for a simple free software. Maybe you should try it.

Thank you, that seems to have done the trick. File size (20secs) is now showing at 450mb which is more like it!
Thanks again?

Hi gentlemen, sorry for disturbing, you seem to know MOV a lot, I also have a problem with MOV. I have a large 10-minute MOV video that I wish to send to a friend through email, but the file is too large for most email clients. I found Quora has the same question https://www.quora.com/Whats-the-best-way-to-compress-a-mov-video (https://www.quora.com/Whats-the-best-way-to-compress-a-mov-video) I downloaded the program( http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/compress-mov-file.html (http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/compress-mov-file.html)) because there are many people recommend it, actually, I don't know these parameters, such as bitrate, so I seemed did something wrong....I am not sure but the program showed error! anyone use this program? Appreciate any help!
