In reading through posts here and elsewhere, I decided to try submitting to revostock. I have to say that it's been a breath of fresh air after Istock. An easy to use upload platform and a  clean, well constructed website. The most interesting part is that the reviewers actually have intelligent input and fast response! Instead of form letters, they give me pointers on how to make the videos more sale-able in the future. So far, the experience has been very good. I made a few sales already, even though I've only got maybe 30 files online. It's my feeling that we should support sites like this as an alternative to the grasping arrogant Istock model. As I have said elsewhere, I really feel that video has a great future in microstock. In supporting sites like this, hopefully we can counter the attitude that the only ones who should make money are the website owners, not the contributors.

I totally agree. I too just finished uploading a batch of clips there and found it an easy go. The only thing I would like to see is choice of higher prices. I like  the user set price scheme though, which seems to be more of a standard away from the regular micro sites. What will make these sites a chance to work is giving them first upload of the images. Even if they only get them for a week or so before others it's still something.

Revostock won't make you too much money from video (for now) but I think that they have good perspective in the future.

Revostock is VERY artist friendly, no doubt about that.  But they are primarily an AE Template shop and video sales there are pretty poor compared to Pond5, ShutterStock and even (gasp!) iStock.  They just don't put as much effort into video as they do their bread and butter.

^^^Yes, I upload .mov files to revostock with no problems.  Clips have to be under 20 seconds.

I like Revostock because they treat contributors with consideration and respect, the site is well-designed and graphically pleasing, and the upload mechanism is very user-friendly and efficient.  I look forward to the day when it can produce a decent amount of activity and sales, and I truly hope that day comes.  They deserve it.

I really enjoy dealing with Revostock and the reviewers there. These are likable people. Unfortunately, it's not much of an earner. I do submit new footage there (as well as Pond5, iStock and Shutterstock) and they rank on the bottom sales-wise. Sales have gone down there over the last 1.5 years. I do a short review you can read about http://www.stockvideoseller.com/public_html/revostock.html. If you have any additional feedback, I'll use it to update the review. The percentage to the artist is around 45% - generous compared to iStockphoto, so what files you do sell are worthwhile. Just wish there were more!
