My understanding is that you only make $12 or less for a 1080HD clip non exclusive sale. Do they sell in huge volume to compensate low royalty?
-
$12 is very rare. Try $6-$7 each and there is not much volume. I no longer upload my video there.
-
I doubt anyone really knows at the moment ;-)
-
I never uploaded any footage there. I stopped uploading images there, six months no new photos and still counting.
-
OK, thanks everybody for info. I think it's not worth uploading videos there. It's weird that GettyImage site sells (many crappy looking) HD videos for a few thousand dollars, but iStock sells many much better looking videos for cheap.
-
I uploaded large batch of some early aerial videos about a year ago to give it a try. According to information iStock they sent out that time, the videos were supposed to be mirrored to Getty's site. No, they were not.
In fact, I can see now very similar aerial videos from the same location on Getty. They are $800 per piece. I sell a couple of them every month on iStock and I get between $6-$9.
Sad story :'(
BTW... how does one get their videos to Getty's website? And is really someone buying them for such ridiculous prices?

It's not a ridiculous price and yes people do buy them for that price and much higher. The ridiculous prices are the one's getty licenses through the premium access program.
