I didnt get started until mid 2016, but I still made around $1,000 by the end of the year. My return per download nearly tripled  in 2017 though.

I doubled the size of my port but my earnings went up to around $6,500. Almost at $1,000 this year as well so off to a faster start.

Some of this growth is probably due to the time it took for my port to become established, so hard to know whether things are getting better yet.

Should have some idea at the end of this year though.

Cool!  You are on a good pace to steady growth.  Keep adding new and diverse contents may be the key.

Percentages don't mean anything.  10% could mean you made 10 cents more than in 2016 if you made $1.  That means for this thread to bring any insights, if at all, people wold have to post dollars and I doubt you will find any takers.  For whatever it's worth my income was up 7% over 2016.

Percentage means everything.  How much more contents did you add in 2017?

I had an impression that your sales have been decreasing every year because you constantly are complaining about how things are bad in this business.  LOL.  Good to know your sales actually went up.

Up 5% much to my surprise.  I think 2018 will be the first year to have a decrease.

Did you add any contents in 2017?  If so, by how many %?  Usually, more % contents you add, more % sales increase.

I earned 23 % more than 2016. Mostly because on many agencies my ports are still tiny and increasing them makes a big difference.

14% up thanks to Alamy Adobe and oddly Envato Elements with their bonus scheme.

Even after dropping iStock in March 2017 I still did better.

However Depositphotos, Bigstock, Canstock were suspiciously almost identical 2017 to 2016

Shutterstock and Dreamstime were down. Shutterstock are just on a slide at 7% down and 2016 was almost identical to 2015 even after increasing the portfolio by 45% :(

I didn't answer because I have almost no videos and thus almost no video sales.

Royalties down 21% in 2017, portfolio size increased 25% - 30% (SS & P5; others more, but they're low contributors).

That's after 7 consecutive years of increasing royalties; clearly my days are numbered.

Yeah, not sure how much though. I've been selling stock since 2009, but only took it seriously since the middle of 2014... so the increases have been reasonably large for the past few years. Things are slowing down slightly now, as expected. If trends continue... my 2017 to 2018 increase will be more like 10 to 15%.

They are, except Story Blocks and some other non-micro outlets.  Your topic said nothing about micro only.

I don't have specific stats for you but I stopped uploading to micro near the end of 2017. Maybe that says something.
I'm still making around the same per month despite no new content. Congrats to everyone seeing increases!

It does say something... it says that you stopped uploading to micro near the end of 2017. If you feel it says something else in addition to that, you're going to have to give us a clue!

You'll probably keep increasing revenue if you keep uploading, but good luck.

It just wasn't worth it anymore. I uploaded lots of new work in the beginning of 2017 and nothing new was downloaded. Some of my photos require hours of editing so when they don't see the light of day, it becomes counter-productive.

I'm quality over quantity so micro just wasn't for me. I can't compete with huge factories.

I'm sure eventually my revenue will fall but it was decreasing anyway (now leveling out) with or without new uploads.
