Whatever the amount they offer you for your portfolio, they expect to make much much more money from it.  Ownership of asset is everything in creating wealth.  So, don't do it!!  If you get an offer for $50,000, give counter offer for $300,000.

By that logic no one should ever sell their company.

If the price is right, by all means, sell. The problem is that the price is usually not right. Only 1-10% of right.  ;)

They may be in a position to make much more money from it than you ever can. Over generalisation....it depends
