Images to IPTC/Exif information embedded inside file or you can have XMP sidecar file corresponding with image file. How about video files?
-
I searched for me but could not find any:( Anyway agencies do not read metadata from videos yet anyway...
btw did u have some sales already?
-
I sold one on Pond5 :-)

In theory, XML metadata should work vor video (and audio etc.) as well, that's why it was designed and pushed by Adobe. But most agencies don't have a way of reading out the information, so there is no practical standard yet. Unfortunately!

Metadata submissions are iffy at best. Most don't function - at least when I have tried. iSyincia used to do if for my files with some success - at least for the title and key-words. The replacement service, www.picworkflow.com (http://www.picworkflow.com) doesn't do it for video, yet. It's cut and paste for me still. It will probably continue that way, as the backends for the major submission sites all seem to be organized differently with no consistent protocols. Some, such as ClipCanvas, want you to have the critical keywords first in the list and have no categories to set. But they don't limit the number of keywords. Pond5, orders the keywords in no particular order, and has a proprietary set of descriptions you click on which plugs into their internal search (as does iStockphoto). The key-word limit at Pond5 is 50. None of these talk to each other. Don't hold your breath.

up this old thread, so there is no way to tag IPTC data to video..
how you guys deal video with all the keywords, title and descriptions? just simple copy and paste?
I found sometimes i took few similar video with different texts or something, then i have hard time to identify them with just preview image..

hi all, i happened just to add some keywords and description to mov files through adobe bridge, i didn't think of it will get read but more like a case to keep the info for the files.
I am surprised it was read by pond5..
today i wanted to add some keywords and description to some mov files, but it seems some can't be modified.
I add them by right click in adobe bridge and 'file info'..but some mov files won't appear with 'file info' option, if i try to add in the metadata panel, it will show a pop up like 'this property can't be modified'.
any one is successfully attach IPTC data for video files?
