Are you selling them somewhere else at a cheaper price?

I seem to recall something about them having the ability to alter pricing to match similar content on other sites you also sell too.

No, I'm not selling my 4k clips cheaper at anywhere else.  I set my 4k price lower than $179 at Pond5, but they changed the price more than 20% lower without my knowledge.

Hmm, well I'm out of ideas then. Contact them and see what they say. But that is worrying.

If you are exclusive, there's no change.  Or if your 4K price is much lower than $179 already, probably no change.

Check yoor preferences there is a checkbox:

"Yes! I would like Pond5 to modify my prices..."

etc etc.

That box isn't checked, but Pond5 changed price.

I'm always very surprised by this kind of thread.
If you don't know what's going on and why, why don't you contact them directly and ask? (Pond5 staff).
Are you afraid they'll bite you?

I actually had my best payout ever (for footage since 2015) this month, just beating Dec 2019. Admittedly, P5 has never been in the top for me, but getting closer to a $1/per clip/per month average.

Of course P5 is selling, or they would have closed down a long time ago. And of course many individuals are experiencing a steep drop due to increased competition etc.

My other media is also selling well this month, although not close to the all-time high. Definitely better than the fall months, though.

No doubt that the company as a whole has been struggling this last year, and the changes are a reaction to that, not the cause. We will see.
