Title: Just Un-Licensed My Portfolio on Shutterstock Again for the 2nd time.
Post by: blvdone on February 23, 2021, 03:14
I'm just tired of seeing those sub $5 video sales royalties I would get $30 or more on Pond5 and Adobe Stock.  It's insulting and infuriating.  And those cheap video sub may be either HD or 4K, the same price!!  Give me a f'kin break.  Although Shutterstock has occasional high price license sales, about half of video sales for the last 2 months are those cheap video sub sales.  I did OK without Shutterstock last year from mid July to mid December when I unlicensed my portfolio.  I'm not there to make the Shutterstock management with stock options rich.  I'm not their slave.  So f'k that.  This year's slowdown of Shutterstock sales is very worrying and discouraging while Pond5 and Adobe Stock have been doing well for me.  For those video sub sales, I could've made $68 each on Pond5 instead of $3 on Shutterstock if the buyer downloaded 4k file. 4K and HD being the same price on video sub, why not download 4k, right? It's disgusting. Financial loss is too big for us contributors.

The last I read was that shitterstock didn't allow deactivated portfolios to be reactivated within 30 days.

So I think you got that wrong

Now I have a peace of mind somebody won't sell my clips and photos for pennies potentially taking away my profit from sales on other agencies.

Having the best sales day of February on Adobe Stock right off the bat after unlicensing Shutterstock.  Is it a coincidence?  Could become the best day of the year probably.  Feeling good.

I reactivated my account in autumn  but donīt upload new stuff.
But I now only have 0.10 sales and I am thinking about completely shutting down my account now.

Itīs not the new level structure but those 10 cent sales which make me really angry. Probably time for real action and a complete shutdown of my acount.

My concern was those sub $5 video sub sales were negatively affecting my overall video sales from other sites like Adobe Stock and Pond5.  I could've made $25-120 on those $3 video sub sales instead.  Yesterday, right after I unlicensed my portfolio on Shutterstock, I had the best sales day of this year on Adobe Stock.  It may not be a coincidence.  Plus, it just feel good not seeing those disrespectful and insulting cheap royalty sales reports on Shutterstock everyday.  I moved all my editorial clips to Pond5 exclusive account to get 60% royalty.

Why do you feel it necessary to repeat yourself over and over.

Seriously we get it.

And your Adobe uptick will just be a coincidence.

Last year, when I deactivated my Shutterstock portfolio, a guy from BBC contacted me via Pond5 saying he couldn't buy my clips on Shutterstock and bought on Pond5 instead of Shutterstock.  So, it may not be a coincidence.  I would've made more money in January and February if I didn't sell on Shutterstock and moved all my editorials to Pond5 exclusive.  Extra 50% royalty on Pond5 exclusive (60% vs 40%) would've surpassed video sales from Shutterstock.  So, that's was my reason as well.

I, for one, will never get sick of hearing that a massive pile of good videos bailed on Shutterstock. Thank you blvdone. Repeat, bump, reiterate, and please keep encouraging others to get on the right track and ditch those scumbags. Shutterstock loses = we all win. Death by a thousand cuts.

Yes with the modern politically correct adjustments. She/He/T/Q is WonderPerson. No gender references are allowed. All hail all the various WonderPersons no matter what their biology, mutation, weird science transformation, is or even if they are illegal aliens from the planet Krypton pretending to be children of an all American couple, from Metropolis, Illinois... covering up the truth, that he's an abandoned child from another planet. Yes, SuperPerson - TJAW to the end.

Then the whole Bat family, BatPerson, BatPerson and the PersonWonder - Turdus migratorius.

That makes sense now.  So, what you really meant to say in your original comment is:

'All the cool people left, leaving an army of bored adult females from the planet Qo'noS who deeply honor and respect their husbands and the Klingon tradition, taking snaps of their fluffy pets for a $0.1 reward@'

Considering how unique those photos will be they should sell really well and make a lot of dime downloads.

Actually joking apart but Digital is not far from the truth about Ukranian women, just have a look at many of their names! its not men, seems that the majority at SS anyway are in fact women walking around with little smartphones!

Its also true that most of their big names left long ago and they was also here in the forum making it interesting!

Good One! A classic for all Microstock Quotes. I used to keep a list, but that died years ago. Maybe I can find that old list and revise to include yours.
