Title: My clip featured on the bing search engine page.
Post by: sharpshot on November 05, 2012, 11:42
Just had an email from Clipcanvas that my clip of boats in Penzance harbour on a misty day is the Bing background today.  Hope it brings in some sales.

Congratulations!

It's a shame there's not a link or a credit for your name (versus Clipcanvas). I did find Clipcanvas.com and your image (on page 2 searching via Cornwall). I wonder why they aren't featuring your clip in some way to take advantage of any traffic from Bing?

Good point, it would be nice if they mentioned this on their front page as well.  It's on their Facebook page.  I don't use Facebook much but I can see it would be useful for some pimping.

Congrats sharpshot, it is a very good clip indeed.
Nice to see that Microsoft buy from Clipcanvas, which is a very fair agency.

It's a gorgeous shot. I've had Bing as my home page for many months now
and I believe that your shot is THE first or certainly one of the VERY first to
be video
. Up to now they were always still images.

I saw it this morning and thought,"Wow...very nice." Congratulations!

Thanks everyone.  It looks like Bing has used some Clipcanvas clips before.  Don't know why they don't have footage with Veer.

It's a beautiful shot - for sure! Art is sometimes difficult to spot when you work with visuals 24/7...I am sure you know what I mean :) When it comes to credits - I think each one of you should start using your own and real names....unless, you're a business of course. Why wouldn't you let the client know who you are? After all - you are the artists and creators behind each work. Would you do that? Maybe showcasing usernames is not the best way to go? Would you sell more if you presented yourself as a real person? Would be nice to get your thoughts on this. I made some shots myself. It's not much, but I've always used my own name. Do you think it would be workable to offer more transparency?
