Have you guys heard of Filmsupply? Just stumbled upon this yesterday.
https://www.filmsupply.com/

And yes, I'm aware that this forum is called MicrostockGroup and that an agency (or what would you call it?) like Filmsupply might not be the the place to go for most of us here  ;)

Still wonder what you think about this.

My first thought was that it's weird to first carefully chose a film or even documentary, then take clips from it, mark them as "clips from this or that amazing film" to then - finally - also only sell them as usual stock footage.
Like, in the end, "this or that amazing clip form this very unique and special director" also gets sold as "A man is petting his horse". Random example from this port here: https://www.filmsupply.com/filmmakers/jay-salbert/30

Or take this shot [again random example, don't wanna advertise this guy]:
https://www.filmsupply.com/clips/a-person-staring-out-of-a-window/1738.

Isn't it "too shaky" and "too unclear" in it's message to be sold used as stock? At least according to the stock footage standards that seem to apply here. It's a beautiful scene and might really work in the narration of the film where it comes from but I mean, who would buy and use this? What for? Ideas?

shaky is relevant... :P

a good thing is that they got collections of shots that you can use and tell a whole story without shooting anything and just editing (buying) a bunch of clips. e.g.

Sorry for the late reply, it's been some hectic days for me.

shaky is relevant... :P

Glad to hear :))

But apart from this, I think you actually made a point with what you said afterwards. Are you (or sb else here) shooting stock like this? Aiming for a bunch of clips that a customer could buy all together and then edit sth from it?

Not really trying or having this kind of collections but as you say it might be a good idea :) It could be also be pushed outside an agency as a stand alone collection for sale e.g. "abandoned factory" or something.
