Title: photojpeg quality settings
Post by: mjp on December 31, 2008, 03:33
Hello,

When I set photo jpeg quality 100% I get huge files (1920x1080 30/frames 5dmk2 ) on expoert. So it is possible to reduce quality to 95% or similar and get files accepted to major footage stocks like Istock, ss, StockXpert? Or should I stick with 100%?

I've done a *VERY* thorough test and after saving approximately 200-250 times on JPG 10 and comparing it at 200% to the JPG 12, I can honestly say I can see *no* different.  not "some" not "a little" but "NONE" so I save at JPG 10.  Saves a ton of room and the quality is *identical*

For video, yes, I always compress at 95% or thereabouts.

I always save at 10. No problems getting the images accepted

The OP is asking about video compression, not regular images.

Thanks for the information.
