I've always supported Pixta, but their latest announcement just shows they are joining the race to the bottom:

"Since the beginning of 2015, we have conducted several campaigns to promote footage sales. As the result, we were able to sell more videos and obtain more sales than we had expected. These campaigns have also helped us make our footage more familiar in the microstock market and reach new customers.

Taking account of this result and the footage market environment, we have decided to revise the price of footage on PIXTA.

The detail of the new price table and the schedule is as below.
 ---------------------------------------------------------
 [New Price Table]
 HD1080 $90 ⇒ $70
 HD720 $70 ⇒ $60
 NTSC/PAL $50 ⇒ $40
 Web(L) $35 ⇒ $25
 Web(S) $20 ⇒ $15"

"We're selling more, so we're lowering prices!"

Sounds like someone hasn't been going to his Economics 101 lessons.

They aren't selling at all.  It's a waste of time to upload to Pixta.  Now it's a good reason to get outta there for good.

Lol, it's almost the same wording we've seen before.  We're doing so well, we're cutting prices, and passing the discount on to you!

Is there any good news anywhere these days? first Pond5 and others and now this one, I am not on this site but it seems like nothing but bad news these days about almost every site and sales. Anyone still making a living at it or are we having to face  a reality here?

Huge disappointment. I uploaded lots of my images and videos to them some 6 months ago. Mainly because their pricing seemed better than elsewhere. Got some nice sales, even videos. Now this!  >:(
With their really bad uploading process, no ftp for images, no 4K for videos, they are dead for me.

I didnt even know they sell video successfully, are they worth uploading to?

And it is all better than the 8 dollar files on pond5.

But if even they feel it is necessary to drop prices that strongly, there must be a reason.

Well it's quite obvious and funny. It's hard and stupid to compete with Shutterstock selling the same footage $11 more than they since almost every contributor starts on SS and Pond5 but unlikely on Pixta. The simple Google search with a clip's name + shutterstock will get you to same artist's page on SS.
