I've been playing with the menu with my new GH4 and the Metabones adapter and it's not as easy as it looks.  But I am chugging along.  I was wondering what people do for 4k settings. I have the option to set to cinema quality at 24mz to get 4096 rez.  Otherwise it's 3840 or less.  Does anyone have any feedback on the difference other than size? The manual says that certain frequencies might not play back well depending on where you are located.

What I don't like about the Metabones is no AF and I cannot see what F-stop I am shooting at. That sucks.

In any event I am still in set up mode and trying to figure out the basics of the system.  The frequency the GH4 came set at does not let me choose 4096. I'd have to change that so I was curious what insights/experiences some of you GH4 shooters can share.

I have my GH4 set on Cinelike D, MOV format, 3840x2160.  I think there was a helpful post on the SS forum on this issue.

Deciding on frame rate is part of that decision. The 4096 flavour only comes in 24p while the 3840 gives you 30p. 24P apparently has a very high judder during pans. Much more than would be expected for the lower frame rate or for cameras and even film at the same settings. Do a Google, there's a fair amount written about this. Unless you want several timelines, or have a specific need, or just feel that 24p has better sales potential with the slightly wider view, then to me, 30p at 3840 would be the choice.

Thanks Ibarn & Zeus.  I agree Zeus. Its primarily why I was asking. I really don't want to shoot at 24 because of the risk of judder.  I wish variable worked on 4k, though. That would make the GH4 an even more amazing tool. Can you imagine shooting 4k at 96FPS?
