Title: Shutterstock is not accepting 360 / virtual reality or 3D footage at this time
Post by: SweOlsson on February 23, 2017, 05:06

Hi!

Anyone knows why Shutterstock is not accepting yet 360 clips and when they will implement it?

Greetings

Chris

I think you should ask Shutterstock directly :)
Why can't you upload simpy as panoramic stretched 4K or even 8K?

Shutterstocks system is 16:9
360VR is 2:1

You could stretch everything to fit their system but the quality would suffer and I'm not sure how easy it would be to play it back.

"Yes, we do have plans for adding VR 360 clips, but it may take some time. We have passed your suggestion on to the proper department. When we have an update, we will be sure to notify it to you."

Sounds promising  :)

How about 360 images? Do they sell at the same price as ordinary photos? Anybody uploading?

P.S.: I do not want to start a new threat just for that question.

you can submit 3d footage as separate streams, or try putting the left stream on the left and the right stream on the right (making the video double wide).

they might reject them.

I submitted my 3d footage as 2d (left stream only).

pond5, fotolia, and a few other sites do accept 3d video (although they don't know it).
