Luckily, they owe me only like $50.
That's only if their sales report was honest of course.

$80 for me, not much and I really don't care. I am more angry for those who lost thousands.

OK, $130 total now.

Actually, I just went through my emails and found out I made like $500 after the last Revostock payment in 2014. That makes me angry now.
So, the total now is $580.

You might want to dig into the REVO thread where a lot of people posted their numbers. Some of them quite large amounts.

Revostock (Craig Lillard) ows me $2346 as you can see in the attached printscreen. I haven't heard from him since he closed the website >:(

Revo owes me about $900.
-
Sorry for the partially off-topic, I was never a contributor there, nor i am owed money, but i have to say, what a pretentious and dishonest person the owner of that company must have been.
While i understand the cynical business aspect of a company going down and owing money, what just happened was NOT business.
Especially when you ask for help for years from people who are more akin to employees (freelancers/contributors/whatever it's the same thing financially) than investors, and one day you just slam the door to their faces.
Can't even make sense of it.

You all need to get together and sue in a class action
-
They owe me $108.
-
If he pays contributors back $10,000/year, most of what he owes to us may be paid in 5 years. For him not to do it is unconscientious. Some people blame the company (legal person) to get away from personal ethical responsibility.
-
If they can't pay out money that they should of been holding for contributors, don't they need to be investigated by the authorities? If it isn't a crime to spend money that is owed to others, why would we trust any site with our money? I presumed sites had a legal obligation not to spend money being held that is owed to contributors. If that isn't the case, we need to get instant payouts from all sites to stop this happening again.
-
$5680 in total now
-
About $100 for me.
-
Very sorry to hear about this.
One of the dangers in submitting to smaller agencies I guess. I don't see this industry being regulated any time soon and it seems like the wild wild west online...

This really sucks. This guy needs to get sued for sure.
He's still very active on Facebook. Instead of contacting him... contact his wife. That'll get his attention.
-
About $110 here...
-
So what's the plan for you guys? Sit here all day and be angry or sue the h** out of him? What steps have to taken to get your money?
-
Does he live in the US? Why haven't any of you sued yet?
-
Does he live in the US? Why haven't any of you sued yet?
I was wondering the same thing.
-
Does he live in the US? Why haven't any of you sued yet?
I was wondering the same thing.
Remember, this was the guy who continued to take your money KNOWING he wasnt going to pay out the royalties. There is some warped law in the usa that allows companies to keep taking your money knowing they are closing down. I was a member of powerhouse gym and i renewed an annual membership for like $400. The next week they were closed down. I found out afterwards that they are entitled by law to keep taking membership fees until they "announce their closure". Not sure if this is the same thing but it might slip into that protective umbrella.
However i would say that he violated the agreement between contributor and agency by refusing to pay royalties that were legitimatly due. That sounds like fraud to me.
-
Not that much, about $300.
I feel sorry for contributors who lost way more money than i do.
But i'm also angry about Craigs delaying tactics. "I will do anything", "you will get your money", blabla....
And closing his site with a simple text message is non-professional!
Thank god i rescued my $600 before all this crap happened. ;)
Yeah, patent trolls suck, but he could have been more honest, regarding to the no future thing with Revostock.
Apropos future: What does it mean when Craig says something about transferring our portfolios to other sites? I've read here in the forum that Craig is a comedian? Well, then it was a joke! ;)
Regards,
Martin
-
The text on his website with wasn't even text, but a jpeg of text. I guess that way he prevented it from being indexed or something..
-
I publicly shamed Craig by posting a comment on one of his blogs a few months ago, which resulted in me finally getting paid the $200 he owed me. I had 1 or 2 sales since then, so he owed me $20 or $40. What a piece of crap person he is for taking in money over the last couple years and not paying contributors. I'm not going to start a class action lawsuit over $20 but I'd certainly join one.
-
$103
-
140$
But I went down from a few sales every month to zero about 18 month ago so I am not even sure every sale got reported.
-
$350... the worst part is I kept uploading and spending my time doing that in vain.
-
About 750$ owed.Items were selling untill the website shutdown, so I don't even know the exact amount.
-
About 750$ owed.Items were selling untill the website shutdown, so I don't even know the exact amount.
We don't even know if the sales numbers were honest too. There's no way of knowing it.
-
What's the total so far?
-
Sorry, bad luck, troll etc etc ... too bad. It's time for Craig to notify everyone he owes money to showing either payment or court ordered bankruptcy. In either case he has a legal obligation to pay. If bankruptcy he has a legal requirement to notify each and every debt he owes, that is all of us. Just taking the site down and going away does not relief legal obligations. So Craig ... what is the plan or file for bankruptcy and notify all of us of that action so we can comment.
-
Craig Lillard owes me $1530.
If I lived in the USA I would have defenitely sued him.
So if any of you guys is going to do that, I'll join.
Maybe its a good idea to make a list of all contributors with our contacts and pending payments owed to us.
-

But you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip (what a stupid saying).
There is almost always more blood to be squeezed out of turnips, it's just that the turnips have legally found a way to make it untouchable by separating business finances from personal finances. Companies can file for bankruptcy, yet the principals can still live the life of luxury. I would be very surprised if turnips sold their second home, or cars, or whatever, to pay back the people they have fleeced.

isnt 50odd thousand enough to file a class action lawsuit?
-

I think presenting the list/this thread to free legal assistance in Dallas (mentioned above) might give some insight how likely/unlikely is to get anything back?
I wonder, is this list completed and accurate?
-
Maybe post here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/stockphotogs/ (https://www.facebook.com/groups/stockphotogs/)
Are there any other groups? I often hear reference to a "German forum" if anyone speaks/knows of it.
(I was not on Revostock)
-
I wonder, is this list completed and accurate?
I would guess it represents just a very small percent of total monies owed to contributors, as surely the majority do not come to MSG. Or am I totally wrong? I guess there's no way to know for sure.
-
Craig, where are you???

That is probably very true. I only first found this forum when I was searching for "Revostock payments". I think it's safe to assume that the amount owed is at least $100,000.
-
This is a real test of how much contributors will take. I mean this company hasn't filed for bankruptcy right? So basically they just chose not to pay contributors and make a run for it. If we take this lying down what's next?

Can't believe that people are just letting him go. I definitely go after people that owe me money. It's probably that attitude that came across clearly in my email to him, because he did pay me. Granted, the amount was far less than some of the numbers reported here.
Side effect of people doing nothing, he will probably go and scam other people knowing how easy it is to get away with.

How do you know people are letting him go? Maybe the ones who are losing a lot of money are looking into filing a lawsuit, in which case they wouldnt be talking about it in a public forum. And dont forget...$12000 is a heck of a lot of money, but think what a lawsuit might cost. I am certain it isnt a case of people WANTING to let him go, but more a problem of unscrupulous people knowing how they can rip people off and get away with it, because the cost of doing something about it is greater than what is owed. Seems like the best plan with these online companies is to not get in a position where they owe you that much money.

That's exactly my hope. People who lost the most to lead this action.
Any amount up to 10K can be done via small claim courts, but in Dallas, in person only. :-\

Good points. Having assurance for legal costs is not common in the USA I guess?

They could get 10-15 contributors to hire one attorney to represent them all. Not a class action....just a share of attorney.

Do You Love Marketing?
February 2016 – Present (2 months)Frisco, TX
Coming from an all-digital business where almost every ounce of traffic came from digital channels, I now get to pour almost 16 years of knowledge into small to medium sized companies who are just trying to keep up with an increasingly complex but ridiculously exciting digital marketing landscape.
I help small and medium sized businesses who are either struggling to quickly adapt to the fast paced changing world of digital marketing, or who simply need "another set of digital eyes" to review their current digital marketing, branding and advertising situation. As a bootstrapper and "lone wolf' entrepreneur, I have "pro" to "expert" level practical experience in almost every sector of digital marketing from pay-per-click to SEO to Facebook ads to web/logo design to coding and beyond.
Today's digital marketing world is ripe with opportunity, but also fraught with complexity. My history with building multi-million dollar companies from the ground up and almost exclusively via digital (internet) channels allows me to pour into and unlock so much potential into those companies that have dipped their toes into digital, but aren't quite sure yet how to swim.

https://www.usa.gov/consumer-complaints#item-35997 (https://www.usa.gov/consumer-complaints#item-35997)
- File a complaint with your local consumer protection offices or the state regulatory agency or licensing board that has jurisdiction over the seller.
- Notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in your area about your problem. The BBB tries to resolve your complaints against companies.
- Contact an appropriate federal agency. While these agencies may not resolve your problem, your complaint helps them investigate fraud.
If the purchase was made online across international borders, you may also file a complaint with econsumer.gov.
- Seek legal help.
If none of these options work, you may seek to resolve your problem through the legal system or through an alternative dispute program, such as arbitration, conciliation, or mediation.
-
Stick me down for $50. I think it could be between $50 and $100, but I'm pretty sure it's not less than $50.
Cheers.

I did a search on Twitter and saw a message from a Revostock customer, not contributor, who had money in his account. That money is gone now. There must be thousands of stock buyers like him who lost their money.

Do they have a fraud office in Dallas/Fort Worth?
I would seriously contact the authorities and have this "serial entrepreneur" investigated.
His behaviour is criminal
and you should all bombard that frakkin criminal on any social media outlet you find him on and Linkedin too

Well this is incredibly discouraging. I assumed there were a lot of authors who got screwed, but based on the responses here, I can only imagine the real total owed must be well over six figures.
If I remember correctly, I was owed about $1,800.
Does anyone know what our options might be to explore a joint lawsuit?

Good to know total sum of just few contributors...
Who says that it would not pay-off establishing some site, take the money and vanish?

vfxbuzz $1278, till last sale i was able to track.
I don't understand one thing, why he ran away. Even if Revo would have been running without investing any further or by keeping expenses to minimum with members help, we could have easily been paid, i mean by paying us 80-90% royalty he could have saved the business. It had such a huge amount of content with so many buyers. Craig if you are listening, come back we'll manage.

Wow, that just stinks. Sorry for all involved. To anyone affected, you need to contact the Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, and notify him of this fraudulent business and it's owner. I hear a lot of people have gotten good results dealing with shady companies by going this route. A helpful link is here: https://texasattorneygeneral.gov/cpd/file-a-consumer-complaint (https://texasattorneygeneral.gov/cpd/file-a-consumer-complaint)

wow, 70 contributors 70K..!!!
i can say he is a keen marketer for sure...
as this is only your part of the commission.
he should be hired by shutterstock or istock for his brains to market their images.
but as for paying you 70 ppl, why would he avoid paying you when he can actually market so well???
for this, at least we have to thank ss for payout monthly ...even if it is as little as 35 bucks!
one good lesson here... avoid any agency who does not payout regularly...
esp the ones you have to chase for a payout.
-
The sad fact is, no lawyer would take this case knowing that Craig actually hasn't got any money to pay ppl back. No point chasing him on that level, but small claims court with higher amounts owed should be used for at least leaving some track record on his name not to trust him ever again.
Amazing escape this was, for sure. >:(

Not just amazing, but what would be really interesting is to see if he has the money and simply pocketed it. If I recall, there was some litigation that might have broke Revo, so he may not have a dime of the money. But based on his ignorance of the contributors, how he chooses to ignore responding to them, he is a scammer in my book. He owes me a little bit, but others are due much more than me and I feel for them, especially those who make a living off stock. The least a professional could do was communicate the closure of the business, the legal status that drove them down and that the company was broke. He could have disclosed some financials submitted for bankruptcy and made a decent attempt to share that with the people who trusted REVO. He didn't.

+10
but even leaving tracks can only work if ppl are looking for it. much like business ombudsman or bureau to check before doing business with certain ppl.
still, in my early days , i knew of many swindlers who left without paying me and many larger clients
and are able to continue elsewhere
eg. he moves to another country , starts a business there during ,
or stay in the same city and start a new business under his wife's name
. or go into an entirely new business..
get this.. one of these swindlers actually went into politics.

She may be our last hope.
Hey, that's not a bad idea. My understanding is that the show pays the money awarded, so if this guy is really out of money you'll still get paid. I think you have to have a case pending in small claims court. you'd each have to sue separately, since the max is $5,000.

Craig is a real piece of crap. When he was spinning his sob story in his blog, many contributors were frankly too nice, saying, "Don't worry, we're with you, pay when you can." But it made no sense that he was collecting revenues yet paying out NOTHING. I raised a stink in the blog comments and got the few hundred he owed me. I really do hope people sue to get the rest of what he owes, he deserves the lawsuit.
