Title: Sound in videos acceptations
Post by: xphi on October 17, 2019, 16:03
Hello, I have a question about the sounds in the footage. I have some videos that include sound, I know that POND5 accepts them a priori but what about Shutterstock, adobe stock and Istock? do they refuse them? do they accept but remove the audio?

I intend to create sound myself, to see a semblance of music for certain. This will be done by myself but is it likely to be rejected? (I also have images rejected by "lack of authorization of the artist" while ... I'm the artist ! ... I would not like the same kind of refusal because of the sound)

Thank you very much.

I have never had a problem, as long as the sound is relevant to the clip. They say they prefer no sound.

It should really enhance the clip, otherwise it won't be accepted. What kind of video do you have that needs sound? Does the usefulness of the video disappear if sound is removed or changed?

No they don't. They reject them for this exact reason. Only if sounds are clear and relevant to the clip. Any time i forget to mute a clip it is usually rejected.

If this helps for "authorisation from artist" adobe have rejected my older released model clips where the model painted a wall decal. They asked for intellectual property release something i never have thought or knew about. (Edit, oops this might have happened in Shutterstock, i cannot recall for sure) Guess they were right but this might apply and for custom audio if sounds like music in your case?
