What the average time length and/or most sellable time length period for stock video clips?
Is the sweet spot around 15 seconds?

Why do you think there is a sweet spot? Wouldn't the content of your video determine how long it should be?

Are you saying you've uploaded nearly identical clips at 5-10 sec, 10-15 sec, and 15-30 seconds and the ones in the middle range sell more often than the longer and shorter versions or are you just saying that you decided quite arbitrarily that 10-15 seconds was the best? This kind of question seems as useful as asking what's the best aperture or shutter speed for photos, it necessarily depends on the subject. Or the common question how many photos do I need to make a living? There is no possible way for there to be one correct answer to that question for everyone.

I try not to go beyond 4 hours for one clip and I have determined the sweet spot to be 22.57493222 seconds

Depends on the subject. If i need 30 seconds i take it. But if i dont i usually make them 20 seconds to give some editing flexibility to the buyer.

Totally depends on the subject. There is no sweet spot. For instance, simple loops vary between 8-15 seconds, sometimes they include an alpha matte, so then it's 16-30 seconds total.

OK, so we have a range now of 5 to 30 seconds. At least we've established a range rather than saying there is no ideal range. I think obviously for most commercial stock subjects a 5-10 minute clip for example would be far too long. So there is a range and there is a number and frankly if that number is from 5 up to 30 seconds then it is still a pretty narrow and finite range. So I'm satisfied with that knowing that clips can be as short as need be, depending on the subject, but probably less than 5 seconds is too short and anything above 30 seconds tends to be dragging on too much. Question answered.

Well, most agencies do not accept anything more than 30 seconds and want a minimum of 5 seconds. It isn't us who set these parameters. We all work within 5-30 seconds because those are the rules from most of the stock agencies for which we upload clips.

Understood. Thanks. Then that probably helps to identify what is most usable by clients too. If that's the industry standard then that's what clients probably want and use the most.

It's a known fact your sales will double if you drop 7 microseconds average.
