Writers' strike in the US started on May 2nd.  That timing pretty much coincide with when the low video sales started.  I've heard there are not much video production going on in Hollywood now.  Or is it the AI effect?

I have no idea, but as SAG-AFTRA is now on strike too (as of midnight), anything still in production will be shut down. So you might see a further bump downwards if it's related to movie/tv production or not much change if it's AI

The strike is an interesting thought. Jeopardys end credits says they buy stock from Alamy and Shutterstock, so its definitely possible.

Pond5 has gone completely dead for me (again) while Adobe Stock has withered (again) and last 4 (four) video sales on Shutterstock amount to a pathetically low (again) of $8.90. Very few if any of my buyers would be linked to those strike activities going on. This whole industry seems like its in a slump presently.

Sales have been slower for me overall since April of this year. June was okay but everything else since April has been down significantly. So far October is slow as well. I think the strikes have contributed but I think the bigger issue is the very dim economic environment that most of the world is in. Sales are down in many industries and this has a trickle down effect to marketing and creative aspects. Hopefully it rebounds when economic conditions improve, which I think it will. But it could be a year or more until then, unfortunately.
