 I am not clear on the specs of the agencies you mentioned but from the beginning of stock footage in the big houses you need to provide 16mm or 35mm ( they are starting to shy away from 16mm ). These cameras ( most Digital now to tape ) range around $ 250,000 dollars without the lenses. The other factor is racking focus. Unless you have done it as a profession fro some time I suggest you need to hire the staff and just direct. You need grips with a truck full of lighting equipment a DP and several others to produce professional looking film footage that can be used by the major buyers.
 I am looking into this now as several of my friends are already doing so. I will say that once you get your footage on Getty the shelf life is longer than anything they offer, and no post production Getty does it all. A lot of money to produce but over time the returns can be staggering. The best part is at the end of the day you go home with your coffee and tape and that is all.

There is only one site significant site that offers Rights Managed collections is (generally) considered mid-stock. Thought Equity ( newbielink:http://thoughtequity.com [nonactive]). Pond5, Istock, and Shutterstock (along with virtually every microstock site) only sells royalty-free.

You could try submitting to them. The thing I think you need to be aware of however, is that most rights-managed pieces are part of a much larger collection. So for instance, a lifestyle clip of a mother and daughter say, cooking, will be a part of a collection shot by the same filmmaker consisting of dozens of similar clips, often involving the same models. I did a quick search and had no luck at all finding rights-managed editorial footage.

What I'm saying is, I think you're going to have a problem trying to offload one or two clips to them (especially editorial) as rights-managed. I'd be willing to bet good money that you won't get much past the application phase.

If you choose the RM and RF collection you can select in the search field creative RM and/or editorial as a limit. So it's there and I asked for submission guidelines because my ideas are probably better suited for RM than for IS.
