I opened account there, asked for FTP access, uploaded couple files and now I have no clue how to process them. Submit button seems to be grayed out but I can press it. Nothing happens so I am puzzled.

Assuming you have populated the IPTC data, you upload and that's it.  You'll know what got accepted when it shows up in your portfolio.  Couldn't be easier.

I did not expect that. Yes, IPTC is there, I am uploading my usual stuff I am sending everywhere.

I'm new to GL as well, and just found that there's one more stage than usual, called "Upload queue".

From what I understand, files are automatically moved there from FTP, and then taxied to the real "Pending approval" queue a few at a time - 40 a day - to allow everyone to have files reviewed in an acceptable time.

Back last summer we had quite a logjam in Pending, and there was much confusion as to what users were cleared for property issues etc. So a SubPending Queue was created. I guess we could have named things a little better.

Images will stay in queue until they are cleared by the content editor for

1. First look quality
2. Commercial value
3. Property issues including trademark and copyright

We try to give all submitters a fair shot at getting images moved to pending as soon as is practical. If you have lots of buildings, people wandering around in your shots etc, it is likely you'll be hanging around in Queue for awhile before being passed off to pending.

We try and take new submitters in the order in which they arrive - our regular submitters have priority.

Vectors - since our reviewers have a high degree of expertise in the vector technical aspects and vectors are generally easier for us to deal with, vectors usually move ahead more quickly than photos unless  your approval percentage is low and there are repetitive technical issues with your EPS files.

Model released people images - if you submit people images requiring releases without an invitation or being pre-approved for submission, you'll also be sitting in Queue for awhile until we get to you.

I sent them an email 2 months ago, never heard back from them. Not really motivating for me to upload my stuff there.

Does anybody have some approved images at GLO in last 24 hours?
My images even didn't appear in "pending" yet - I used web site's upload, not ftp.

A suggestion:

it would be nice if maybe there was a count number next to the status .. kinda like this:

Approved
Pending Approval   (9)
Upload Queue        (1)

Thanks.

GL has been under maintenance for a couple of days now, anyone knows when they'll be back in business?

Yes. Please read my previous reply above.

Sorry for misunderstanding - I meant that they didn't appear in my "upload queue" folder. I re-uploaded them now and they appeared in few minutes. It seems that files uploaded right after yesterdays maintenance disappeared.

@808 Several improvements are on our worklist

@mm - We never stop doing business. Some backend work is in progress this week. We do our very best to avoid outages during peak hours. As you all know, when dealing with computers and servers, sometimes the unplanned does happen.

@jm73 Glad you were successful.

Thanks for the reply GLR...let me rephrase my question, when are we going to be able to upload to the site again?...any idea?

Uploading via the normal site uploader is and has been open. Uploading via FTP is currently disabled. Check the Seller News on your account page for notification of when FTP uploading will be available again.

I've been having trouble with images using the site uploader.  Uploaded Sunday night and they never appeared.  Uploaded again last night and they showed up in the upload que.  They have all the data imbedded and usually go straight to the Pending Approval que.  I've processed them twice now selecting the Submit for Review button but they don't seem to move from over to the Pending Approval que and it's been several hours.  I was planning to give them til the end of the day then contact support if they are still stuck.  (same user name there and here - KLSbear)

I see them, and they have been there since your upload. Yes we did have a few hiccups on SUnday.

They don't go to Pending until they go through the content reviewer. Right now we have a logjam in queue but it is steadily moving. For some notes about how our system works, please see my more lengthy post from the other day above in this thread.

GLR, I can't even log into the site itself, all I get is the message saying "site under maintenance, be back shortly" or something of the source, I've also try to log in throu MSG and it also gives me the same page, what's going on?

Thanks for the update.  I hang on until tomorrow and see what happens.  I've been used to them going right to Pending very quickly, bypassing the upload queue since they contain metadata.  I've been spoiled by the fast acceptances in the past!

Try to refresh your browser while on the GL page. The site is up and has been up. That's what I had to do after getting the maintenance page on Sunday. If still no success, write us at the site - info at domain of graphicleftovers.com. Or if you prefer PM me with your user name and I will check on your account.

If it's in the Upload Queue area it'll move from there to Pending Approval and then get reviewed.
