Hi, Is there anybody who is having contact with graphicleftovers? I wanted to start upload my portfolio there, but can't find something about a Modelrelease. Uploading an image from a person, it's denied because of recognizeble face. Yes, I knew that ;)
I mailed several times to them, but no answer for weeks now. I think about deleting what I uploaded till now. Any advice?

Regards, Ivonne

Earnings have been very steady with them so far, but September earnings are drastically down for me for some reason. Despite that I uploaded 18 new images in late August :\ It's strange, but I hope sales will pick up soon. Maybe they've had a flood of new contributors after the royalty structure announcement at IS.

Even unrecognizable people don't get in much.

So you're trying to submit something they don't accept, you don't get a response to a question that is clearly answered in he FAQ (which obviously you didn't bother to read), and that leads you to think the site is dead. Interesting.

Well for anyone concerned by the title of this thread, let me just add my own experience to the discussion and say that my earnings at GL have constantly been on the rise, and as far as I'm concerned the site is alive and thriving.

I like that they don't have many people photos, makes them different from the other sites.  Sales are OK, just look at the earnings poll, very good for one of the newer sites and heading in the right direction.

Yeah, I wouldn't say dead and I wouldn't say thriving. I'd say "Low Earners" like the poll says is a good classification.

The site seems active, but I asked for an FTP account long ago and they never replied to my emails.

Thanks. Let's hope that they also have a flood on buyers  ;D. I think that many costumers sometimes needed images with persons, I don't think it's a good concept not to accept them. I have 11.000 images in my portfolio, I think to delete my account at Graphicleftovers. This is too much work for to little money, I am affraid.

Well, actually, I could not find it in the faq, I really had tried to find. And I think that a helpdesk CAN give an answer, although it's in the faq? I am a well experienced stockphotographer, actually I live from it. I think a stock-agency can give an answer when there is a question, don't you think? When there is an issue about payment, they maybe also didn't answer? I prefer an open contact.

Well, thanks everone, I have my answer now  ::)

From the Seller FAQ page - you don't even have to scroll to see it

What type of photos can I submit?
We accept images of objects, backgrounds, textures, animals, nature, conceptual, macro, and 3D images. Since we are graphics dedicated, we do not accept images with fully recognizable people that require a model release.

GL is doing well for me (I do illustrations - no real people), I've earned a payout there already, and the submission process is probably the fastest and easiest of the 8+ sites I submit to. Nothing 'dead' about GL for me.

They are still accepting images with a good turnaround time (unlike 123rf and Fotolia which seem to have really slowerd down).

I sent them an email a couple of weeks ago but they haven't replied to me either.  I still like the site for the look and simplicity. It has to be worth the effort eventually.

Sales have slowed for me lately but it is so easy to upload to that as long as it keeps ticking over I am willing to keep supporting them.
