Title: Déjà vu all over again, check copyright issues with your tutorials!
Post by: Microbius on May 05, 2013, 06:31
I know I'm like a broken record with these guys, but how hard is it to check areas where there could be IP issues before letting a tutorial through to your newsletter (remember the guy tracing celebrity photos a while ago?). If you are going to use a font (esp. if you are going to link to it) check who owns it

Here a tutorial from the latest news letter http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/creating-a-coffee-house-logo-from-theory-to-vector-in-adobe-illustrator/ (http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/creating-a-coffee-house-logo-from-theory-to-vector-in-adobe-illustrator/)
sending people to a "free" font site, when the actual font is owned by ITC/ Monotype Imaging and should be licensed here:

http://www.fonts.com/font/itc/itc-lubalin-graph#product_top (http://www.fonts.com/font/itc/itc-lubalin-graph#product_top)

Please guys, just check the source materials used in the tutorials!

Thanks so much for catching this!  We certainly do try to catch any and all issues concerning IP but this one has obviously slipped through. We have taken action straight away and have now replaced the link.

Thanks again,
Josh
