Title: Advice on images to submit to my iStockPhoto gallery
Post by: Randomway on February 19, 2009, 09:33
Hi everyone,

I officially tested into the iStockPhoto vector collection a few months ago and am starting to put up images (14 so far). I have a pretty large gallery at Shutterstock and am trying to figure out which images from it I should submit to iStockphoto.

I'd like to submit vectors that have a good chance of passing review. The trick is I don't know what type of images those are yet.

Could I ask you guys to scan my images and offer advice?

I really appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thank you,

Hey Randomway
I am by no means a decent vector artist or really have any right to be giving advice on vectors period, but here's my two cents...

In browsing through your port at SS it seems like you have some really nice illustrations.  With out downloading them at looking at them very closely I bet most of them would be accepted at IS.  They can be real picky about AI8 compatibility, open paths etc.  The only way to find out is to upload them and hope for the best.  Although at only 15 uploads/week I would definitely pick the best (or your favorites) to upload first.

Good Luck!

Thank you for the advice! With the 15 image upload limit, I think I'll make up a list of my favorites so I'll have a weekly upload plan. Then I can concentrate on making sure they meet up with standards.

I forgot to say.
Download Deepmeta, it's a free program designed to streamline uploading to IS.  You can load all of your images to it and assign categories and correct keyword mistakes and then cue them.  That way when the week lapses all you have to do is open up deepmeta highlight 15 more pictures and press upload.  No messing around with the ridiculous IS interface.

^ DeeMeta is an awesome application. I use it for everything, it will make uploading and managing your portfolio so much easier.

Thank you both. I just downloaded DeepMeta and am having a look around. I know I can't upload vectors directly through it, but I do like the charting features. Hopefully I can use several other features too.
