I've made some t-shirts through Spreadshirt so I'm on their mailing list.  They are having a 3-colour valentine design contest with crowdspring.  If you win, it's $500 but be warned that you give away the rights.  If you don't win you still own the rights.  I copied and pasted the email below but the links didn't come through so I pasted the link immediately below:

Any designers might want to look into the crowdspring site - I've spent less than a minute there so I can't tell you much - but at first glance it looks like another Pixish.

The e-mail from Spreadshirt:

We are giving away 2 $500 prizes for the best Valentine's Day designs

Betcha you could use $500 right about now.

Well, here is good news! Spreadshirt is partnering with crowdSPRING.com, an online design community, in sponsoring a Valentines Day Design contest. There are two $500 prizes up for grabs and you could have one of them.

Here is what you need to do:

Go to crowdSPRING.com to find out more about the contest

Create Valentines Day themed vector designs

Upload your design ideas to your account on crowdSPRING.com

The deadline for submissions is January 15th, 2009.  If youre selected as a winner, Spreadshirt will purchase your design for $500.  If youre not a winner, you can still upload your design to your shop or marketplace and make a hefty buck on the commissions.

So what are you waiting for? Click here to GET STARTED.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought it necessary to warn anyone who participates in contests at this site.

Win or lose, you give up some rights to any work you submit to crowdspring. From their legal page:

"Content License and Access. When you submit content to the Site, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and perform the content in connection with the Site, in any media known now or in the future."

Super shady, and I'd avoid this site like the plague if I were you.
