Hi!
I have a simple-not-so-simple question to ask.
I want to start submiting some illustration to iStock. I have some good Illustrations ready to pass the approval. However, I also have a long list of "simple" Illustrations, which mostly are isolated objects on white and complex symbols on white, 1 per illustration.
I was wondering, since Istock does not seem to like single symbols, could I create groups of 4 or 8 symbols in a file, and submit them as EXCLUSIVE on iStock. I would have all those SINGLE symbols sold as non-exclusive on other site, but only iStock will have a grouped Illustrations of 4 or 8 of them.
Could that count as Exclusive, since iStock will have exclusiveness of the "grouped" illustration?
Thanks for you insight!

You cannot be an exclusive on iStock and sell images on other sites ( unless they're part of the Getty family, who own IS)
-
No Istock does not do Exclusive files.. Only Exclusive Photographers.. So you are ALL exclusive to IStock or nothing.. DT and other sites will let you submit exclusive files for higher commisions..

Ok I understand this.
So if I can rephrase the question then, can I do what I stated above?
could I create groups of 4 or 8 symbols in a file, and submit them as EXCLUSIVE on iStock. I would have all those SINGLE symbols sold as non-exclusive on other site, but only iStock will have a grouped Illustrations of 4 or 8 of them.
So I would creates sets out of SOME single images I am selling on other site, and sell those sets as Exclusive on iStock?

No, if you wish to be exclusive to istock for illustrations, you can only submit illustrations to istockphoto period. You would have to remove all your illustrations from the other sites, and only submit illustrations to istockphoto.
-
If exclusive to IS, you can only submit RM elsewhere. And according to some previous threads, a rejected image at IS can only be submitted as RF elsewhere if they allow it on a case by case analysis.
-
Yes it is you who will be exclusive not the images. You cannot sell ANY images on other sites if you are an IS exclusive

Ok I get it hehe :p.
Since half my portfolio is not "suitable" for Istock I guess I will put exclusiness out of my mind for Illustrations. Will go with Flash for exclusivity.
Thanks everyone for your explanations, I really appreciate.
