Title: Illustrators-Submissions please help!
Post by: chromaco on March 26, 2012, 13:50
Is there a secret to getting IPTC uploaded to sites that only take eps. submissions (without the jpg preview) like CS, Yay and Clip Dealer?
Thankyou for any feedback- I appreciate it.

With canstock I just zip a large jpg and the eps together that way the keywords go with it.  I can't remember which AI version you can use to put your keywords into the eps file.  There is a thread on Canstock in the forum about that.  I'm at AI CS so it doesn't work for me.

I don't belong to Yay or Clip Dealer so I don't know what their requirements are.

Thanks Anita- at least that saves me some cut and paste with CS. One zipped file with the same names and different extensions I am assuming? This works with the FTP right?

I send zipped eps + hi-res jpg to Yay too and it works.
"...if you wish to use a JPEG for IPTC data you can zip a jpeg and eps (or svg) together and upload that and any IPTC information found in the jpeg will be put on the entries on the describe page."

Yep just treat it like any other site that requires a zip file with a jpg preview.  Keywords on the jpg get the vector tagged.
