Title: Picworkflow?
Post by: DallasP on August 25, 2013, 13:26
So, through a discussion here I learned of picworkflow.com and today I purchased some credits to see how well the keywording works. How many others use picworkflow, do you use their keywords? What other of their services are handy? I'm pretty new and only contribute to a handful of sites so I'm not sure if having them upload files will save me a ton of time.

Just interested to see, I was hoping they had a smaller package than the $10 ... But, maybe I'll try their upload thing. :/

I use Picworkflow from time to time, it helps me a lot because I'm not a native English speaker. In particular, for photos, for which I do not find enough keywords, it helps a lot. I've noticed that quite often words are misspelled. Perhaps there are even more than I notice, since I'm a native German speaker. Nevertheless, a good service, I love it!

I use it regularly for keywording, titles and descriptions. I find it quite helpful to learn what their keyworders see in my images.
Uploading doesn't work for me. Too often images and/or metadata go missing. But I didn't try again for a while so things may have improved.

I'm thinking about leaving exclusivity but I realize that it would take hours every week just to upload to all sites. Is Picworkflow the only site available for uploading to multiple sites? Is it any good or packed with bugs and issues? And does it work well with vectors?

I tried it again but, then had to copy and paste the keywords into my files metadata which is kind of a pain

I'm not trying their distribution, I'm just going to use my credits on files that I'm not sure how to keyword. There's also http://prostockmaster.com/ (http://prostockmaster.com/) which I don't know too much about. I did use the trial for a couple weeks or whatever it is.

If you use the distribution service (or just the free picWorkflow loopback destination) the site will write the metadata to the files for you. Or export a CSV/TSV and use some software to apply them back to your local source files :)
